FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $49 as a trip charge and $110 per hour. As an example: 1 hour of work would be $159. 2 hours are $269. These prices have gone up dramatically over the years due to economic pressures that everyone is experiencing. I am not the least expensive person around to hire but I work quickly and efficiently and, most importantly, I am about doing the right thing. Examples of what might be done in an hour: - Replace 2 switches, 1 receptacle and a light fixture - Replace a ceiling fan - Install a range outlet for an existing range that was previously hardwired - Perform a safety check on the whole electrical system (visual inspection of electrical panel, torque connections to manufacturers specifications, basic measurements throughout house, check all GFIs) - Replace up to (10) hardwired smoke detectors
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For service calls I just take information over the phone or text and then come perform the work. For jobs that need a proposal or estimate I come and look at the job and go over it worth the you. I then leave and write up an estimate that I send you through my system. This way you can go over the numbers with your family and take some time to feel out if it is a good fit for us to work together. I do not pressure people and encourage everyone to get multiple quotes and meet with folks to get a feeling for who you want to work with.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Journeyman License in Germany, a Master Electrician License in the US (multiple cities) and I have recently become a member of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors which focuses on the safety and education of professionals in the electrical field. I have most recently attended a 7 hour seminar on code requirements for Generators and Vehicle Chargers. I am always trying to better myself and learn.
