- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When I meet a new client, we do a complimentary health consultation first. This allows you to get to know me and ask questions, and it allows me to evaluate your goals and make sure that I am the right person to help you with your goals. It's really just for us to get to know each other and make you feel comfortable with me - no strings attached!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly reading articles, magazines and research in the fitness field. I take certifications and study courses whenever possible. Most recently, I signed up to take a TRX certification to learn how to train clients using a suspension system. I thrive on learning more about the cutting edge of fitness!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I never had a healthy relationship with working out and eating. When I was a teenager, I battled body image and eating issues, yo yo dieting, and in college gained over 30 lbs. Exercise to me was a punishment for a bad day of eating. I was not happy with myself. After college, I decided to take control of my health and started eating healthier and walking. I started doing different fitness programs to work my way up and improve and lo and behold, I lost the 30 lbs but gained a positive body image and self esteem. I became confident and realized, hey, if I can do this for myself imagine what it would feel like to help others do. And that's how I got here! I love helping other people take control of their health and seeing the opportunities it can open up for them.
