With health coaching, I don't just tell you how many calories to eat; we find the right way of eating for YOU. Dietary needs are different for everyone and with so many theories out there we can determine what works best for you and your goals. In addition, we also discuss non-diet and fitness factors in your life that could have a negative impact on your life. I don't give you answers, but rather guide you to find the right answer.

I love seeing not just the physical transformation within people, but also the mental transformation! Taking control of your health allows you to feel better about yourself, be a better person for your family and friends, and have a better quality of health.

    I worked with Jackie for 3 months. We did various workouts in her home which was convenient as I was apprehensive about going back to my gym (not being in the shape I was before). She tailored the workouts and meal plans for me, my energy level, my schedule with my kids, and also around a knee injury. This was all very helpful to have such personal attention. Jackie is extremely positive and motivating. Her energy is infectious. She has various equipment in her home. Jackie is very educated on all aspects of nutrition and fitness. She also practices what she preaches, even over halfway along her pregnancy! I am happy to say that after the time with Jackie I not only lost 4 % body fat that I also gained not just a trainer, education to take with me to continue my fitness journey, but a wonderful friend too!

    Jackie is incredible. She is passionate about fitness and leading a healthy lifestyle, so she is always willing to help. I have sought advice from her for everything ranging from workouts to meal plans, and she made it easy for me to change my lifestyle pretty much overnight. She helped me design a meal and exercise plan that fits my busy schedule. I actually look forward to exercising and meal planning now, which I never thought was possible! Her attitude and dedication are contagious, and I am extremely grateful for it because I am already seeking results after just 2 weeks. My only complaint is that I cannot hire her as my live-in cook :) I know my health and weight loss journey is up to me, but Jackie has made it a whole lot more exciting and possible.

    Jackie Damp helped me to stay motivated to complete my fitness program. I'd started several times before, but always quit before I reached my goals. She helped me stay accountable for what I was eating and for working out each day. With her help I managed to not only complete the program, but lose those last few (stubborn!) pounds of baby weight. She is very energetic and positive. I always left our coaching sessions smiling. :o) I would highly recommend her.


What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When I meet a new client, we do a complimentary health consultation first. This allows you to get to know me and ask questions, and it allows me to evaluate your goals and make sure that I am the right person to help you with your goals. It's really just for us to get to know each other and make you feel comfortable with me - no strings attached!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly reading articles, magazines and research in the fitness field. I take certifications and study courses whenever possible. Most recently, I signed up to take a TRX certification to learn how to train clients using a suspension system. I thrive on learning more about the cutting edge of fitness!
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I never had a healthy relationship with working out and eating. When I was a teenager, I battled body image and eating issues, yo yo dieting, and in college gained over 30 lbs. Exercise to me was a punishment for a bad day of eating. I was not happy with myself. After college, I decided to take control of my health and started eating healthier and walking. I started doing different fitness programs to work my way up and improve and lo and behold, I lost the 30 lbs but gained a positive body image and self esteem. I became confident and realized, hey, if I can do this for myself imagine what it would feel like to help others do. And that's how I got here! I love helping other people take control of their health and seeing the opportunities it can open up for them.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure when hiring a personal trainer or a health coach that you feel a genuine connection to them. You have to trust them because you will be sharing a lot of personal information with them. Also, make sure they seem passionate about what they are doing as trainers and coaches! Their passion will fuel your motivation. You also want to make sure that they can relate to where you are coming from and work with you where you are. For example, if they are focused on bodybuilding and you are new to fitness, make sure that they will be able to train you on a beginner level. Also, get to know their own health & fitness goals and practices! Of course make sure they are also insured and certified to be doing what they are doing!
