I provide group training at my new facility TailBanger's Pet Resort. Like people, each dog has a unique personality. My style is not "cookie cutter" but focuses on the basic and individual training you and your dog deserve. Hearing the joy in my clients voice when I call them to follow up after my visits. When clients are happy, I know the dog is happy.

Love having Barbara come to the house to work with my dog and I. I feel like we get so much more acomplished than a group class. Handouts are provided for continuing the training between sessions. My dog has responded so well to the positive training techniques that have been implemented.

Barbara was AMAZING. We adopted a 2 year old chocolate lab mix in June 2016 who had been an outdoor-only farm dog, so he didn't know the basic commands (sit, down, etc.). Additionally, he had some separation anxiety due to the rapid changes in his life (he was surrendered in the middle of May, and went from the only place he knew to a kennel to a foster home to our home in just about 2.5 weeks). Barbara coming to our house to train him was perfect, because more travel at that time would have been incredibly stressful for him. Not only did she train him in the basic obedience with verbal AND hand commands (which was very impressive to our families when we brought him home for the holidays and he did nonverbal commands) but she helped us with crate training and techniques to help with his separation anxiety too. Whether you are adopting a puppy, or an older dog who needs a refresher on obedience, or even if you've had your fur baby for years but they have that one bad habit you just can't break ask them of, Barbara is the perfect trainer for you!

FAQs

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Absolutely!! I am a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers who offer daily advice, seminars and resources. There is always something new to learn. You can always teach an old dog trainer new tricks.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always went to large chain pet stores to train my own dogs. I realized I could be a trainer as well but with a more personal touch.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Most of my clients need basic behavioral modification training. Jumping up, counter surfing, excessive barking are just a few of the common issues for dog parents.
