FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
SnapDivorce offers couples a free one-hour consultation. At the conclusion of your initial consultation, the attorney mediator will provide you with a flat-rate quote for the services that your case requires. Every case is unique, so we are not able to provide you with an exact price prior to your free consultation. However, the average cost for a mediated divorce in Pennsylvania through SnapDivorce involving property distribution, support and/or custody issues ranges between $4,000-$7,000, including all court costs and filing fees. A simple divorce with no issues costs $1,400, including filing fees. Filing fees average approximately $400 in the 5-county area surrounding Philadelphia.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
SnapDivorce’s mediation and divorce process can be broken down into three main steps: (1) your Initial Consultation, (2) your Mediation Sessions and (3) the Processing of your Divorce. The first step in the process is for the couple to come in for a free Initial Consultation. During the initial consultation, you and your spouse will meet with a neutral attorney-mediator to discuss the facts of your case and any initial agreements you and your spouse may have already reached. The attorney-mediator will explain the divorce and mediation process to you and answer your questions. Once the attorney-mediator has a good understanding of your case and the services you require, the attorney-mediator will quote you a flat fee for our services. After you and your spouse retain SnapDivorce, you will be scheduled for your first mediation session with you attorney-mediator. Prior to your first mediation session, your attorney-mediator will put together a customized list of documents for you to prepare for mediation. That will allow your attorney-mediator to come to your first session prepared to guide you through the issues that need to be resolved. At your first mediation session, your attorney-mediator will guide discussions between you and your spouse to help you resolve the issues in your case one-by-one. The majority of couples are able to resolve all of their issues within two mediation sessions. If necessary, your attorney-mediator may suggest the use of other experts during the process, such as pension or real estate appraisers, or even psychologists for difficult custody situations. Once you and your spouse have reached agreements on all of your issues, your Attorney-Mediator will draft the necessary agreements, such as Marital Settlement, Support, or Custody Agreements. After you and your spouse sign your Agreements, SnapDivorce will process your divorce through the court system. SnapDivorce will also assist you in completing certain tasks that may be required by your Agreements, such as property transfers through deeds or the preparation and entry of Qualified Domestic Relations Order. Each case is unique, so the path your particular case follows will be based on your individual needs and circumstances.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
