First General Services is a full service company from start to finish. Our full service organization operates as two professionally educated and organized divisions, involving Construction and Cleaning. Both the Construction and the Cleaning divisions have extensive experience in handling fire, smoke, water and storm damage claims. Our odor removal and deodorization system is unmatched within the industry. Outside of the insurance restoration industry we are leaders in the remodeling industry. Repairing drywall, plumbing, installing electrical lines, installing hardwood, vinyl and laminate flooring - painting, patching, and insulation, siding, roofing and so much more. I hired First General Services for cleaning of a rental property that was trashed by the previous tenant. They did an outstanding job and I was very impressed with the owner who would not sign off on the job until it is done to her standards, which are very high!! I was so impressed with the work that was done that I hired them to do all the interior painting.

We met with Cheryl and reviewed our project and she broke down our quote and then helped us split out services that we wanted her to complete which included wallpaper removal,drywall patch and repair, new drywall, exterior painting, repaired retaining wall, new flagstone interior custom step (matching an existing step), new hardwood flooring and framing of the first floor to shore up the second floor structure. We literally found out from a structural engineer we needed re-framing about a week too late and she had her team there the next day framing to keep us on schedule. She is always responsive and listens to what you say and work with her trades if you have a question or see something that wasn't done to your satisfaction. She employs good people and we really can't say enough about the different trades we met and got to work with. They were all different and all wonderful. We purchased the hardwoods through her contact at a fantastic price and the product looks absolutely incredible. Couldn't be happier!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pricing system uses Xactimate -used by most all in the insurance industry. We can use time and materials for small projects or we can detail line by line a project that involves a whole house remodel or repair.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We continually earn continuing ed credits with the RIA and the IICRC for carpet cleaning, water clean up and fire remodeling.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I really enjoy helping people through their remodeling, restoration and their repair projects. No two days are the same, and I am always learning something new.
