FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is set through breakdowns of each task. I don’t throw high number out there and hope they bite. My quotes are consistent and well thought out to be accurate. I try to work with customers if they request a discount. Through experience I find it’s common to give a discount and more discounts are requested along with the customer making my job more difficult. I’ve not charged for extra tasks/items because the customer made my job easy. In other words, if you work with me, I will work with you.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Communication and honesty is key. I strive to give all the vital information the customer will need to feel comfortable with me and what the scope of work is. I listen to their ideas and intentions, I give my recommendations of what I think and then take notes/make a drawing. I’ll explain the process on the quote and if I was chosen for the job and let them know they will receive a quote within a day or two. I also send pictures since I have quite a collection for ideas on what they are looking for.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look for a specialist and someone with experience in what you want done. Make sure the quote makes sense and is transparent. Pay attention to the contractor’s communication and response time. Get 3 or more quotes. Don’t pick the lowest quote unless you have done research on the contractor.
