FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When my own children were in elementary and middle school, I decided to return to school to become an educator. Their passionate teachers sparked my interest in the profession. I started volunteering as a high school math tutor at my local school while I pursued my educational requirements to teach. I discovered how much I enjoyed working one-on-one with the students and helping them succeed.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with students in 3rd through 12th grade either as a tutor or classroom teacher. My students' math proficiency has run the gamut from academic intervention support to honors level, including students with learning differences.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Parents, be sure the tutor is using their time with your child wisely and is connecting with your child. Be sure the tutor is listening to your child and knows what your child's teacher's expectations are.
