Introduction: Hi! I have been tutoring and teaching math for 14 years. My areas of expertise are from pre-algebra to precalculus. I love working one-on-one with students and seeing their breakthrough moments. I strive to develop a relationship with my student's teacher to further understand my student's needs and provide personalized support. Danae and I worked together as high school math teachers for many years. During that time, I had the pleasure of watching her work with students of all ages, skill levels and abilities both in the classroom and one-on-one. Danae is a dedicated, knowledgeable, responsible and experienced educator with a talent for presenting even the most confusing topics in clear, simple terms. She is skilled at identifying each student’s individual needs and providing them with the tools to achieve success (even virtually!). Both students and parents routinely characterize her as warm, patient, encouraging and approachable, and recognize her willingness to go the extra mile for those who need it. I would proudly recommend her as a tutor to anyone looking for some extra support in math!

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

When my own children were in elementary and middle school, I decided to return to school to become an educator. Their passionate teachers sparked my interest in the profession. I started volunteering as a high school math tutor at my local school while I pursued my educational requirements to teach. I discovered how much I enjoyed working one-on-one with the students and helping them succeed.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with students in 3rd through 12th grade either as a tutor or classroom teacher. My students' math proficiency has run the gamut from academic intervention support to honors level, including students with learning differences.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Parents, be sure the tutor is using their time with your child wisely and is connecting with your child. Be sure the tutor is listening to your child and knows what your child's teacher's expectations are.
