Pat has really encouraged my seven-year-old daughter over the last three months as she starts this new artistic endeavor. She is learning a lot of important foundational music skills and enjoys lessons each week. He is very patient but also gives her opportunities to rise to a challenge. We would highly recommend him to anyone looking to start drum lessons.

Details: Child (0 - 17 years old) • No formal training • Can't read music • Traditional drum kit • Snare drum • What the teacher recommends • No, but the student is planning to purchase drums and would like the teacher's advice on it • 30 minutes • I travel to the drum teacher • The drum teacher travels to me

I highly recommend taking lessons with Pat Dilanni. Pat taught me for about 6 years. Not only did I learn how to play the drums, I learned what it meant to be a musician. It is not about how fast or loud you can play, but that you can play in tempo with a group of other musicians and use dynamics. Pat taught me rudiments, different musical styles, how to play with a metronome and much more. He's not afraid to push you and critique you when he sees your potential, which is what you need from a teacher. I haven't taken lessons in about 5 years but I still practice every chance I get, play in a band and on a worship team at school and home. I can jump up on stage with a group of musicians I've never played with before and feel out the style, tempo, and groove because Pat equipped me with knowledge and skills to do so.

Pat is an outstanding music instructor. My son enjoys his drum lessons and looks forward to them. He is progressing nicely and I owe that to Pats patience and instruction with him.

My daughter has been taking drum lessons from Pat for a little over a year. Pat shows a sincere interest in her development as a musician. He keeps her engaged and excited about learning, which transitions into her willingly practicing at home. I worried her enthusiasm would fade, but Pat's love for music and teaching is contagious. She looks forward to every lesson.

I have been a professional drummer for longer than I care to admit and a percussion instructor. I've had the privilege to have been around many quality (some very famous) percussionists and instructors but none any better than Pat. Travis has been taking lessons from Pat for over a year. Pat reaches him in ways that I can't and clearly makes a huge difference. I have had 5 of 6 of my kids playing drums... Wish I would have met Pat earlier. He would have taught them all. I HIGHLY recommend West Hills Drummers Workshop! When he starts outplaying me Pat...I'm blaming you! Lol https://tack.bz/2wgKf
