Our inspection process starts on the outside.... Top to Bottom following InterNACHI Standards of Practice. In most cases and when it’s safe, we walk the roof. From the outside we move to the inside.... Inspecting all accessible spaces and mechanical appliances for safety and function from attic to foundation. The inspection process takes 3 to 4 hours.
A full colored photo report in language you’ll understand is provided, in most cases, the day of the inspection.
We are not like others that charge an extra fee for evening and weekend inspections. We cater to your schedule!
At A Close Look most inspections go beyond the standards set by InterNACHI and ASHI (member of both organizations).

Pat did an incredible job with my inspection and was a pleasure to work with. His report was thorough and timely, he was flexible in a very fluid situation, and he is just an all-around great person to chat with. I would give 100 stars if I could! First of all, he was very punctual. He even got here early to begin the outside portion first. He was so thorough and went above and beyond. He and was super good with my kids and dog following him everywhere. He also took the tome to listen to every concern I had in addition to his observations! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for in inspection!!!!!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our services are economical. We spend, in most cases, 4 hours in the Home. We provide Radon Testing at a discounted price, when inspection services are provided. We will also provide return radon testing (within 2 years of the original test, at a discounted price.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I send a full packet via email to all new customers. The packet contains the Standards of Practice i follow during all inspections, a copy of my contract, Radon testing information and radon contract. If I am given the inspection opportunity, I contact the listing agent and coordinate the inspection. Once the inspection date is set, the 3 to 4 hour inspection begins! Report is reviewed with the client at the inspection site. Once the inspection is completed, I email the report, in most cased with in 4 hours after leaving the Home. I keep in touch with the customer to insure all is going well and I offer assistance.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied Occupational health and safety and have been involved with safety and construction since 1984. I provide safety training for my employers as well as adult continuing education at a local college. I certified as an inspector in 2017 with ICA and most recently became a CPI with InterNACHI. I’ve been involved with a number of construction projects with value up to $120ml. Schematic plan to punch list.
