FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Absolutely! I regularly attend additional classes to stay on top of new developments in the industry, legal changes and issues, and new opportunities to help my buyers and sellers. Although a certain amount of continuing education is required for license renewal, I go above and beyond when there is something I feel will benefit me or my clients.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look for a full-time agent. They should respond to your needs promptly and professionally. This will likely be the biggest investment you will make in your life and you want someone who will take you and your financial commitment seriously. If you feel you are getting less than complete answers or are feeling pressured, move on. Choose someone who will tell you what you need to know, not what you want to hear!
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Real Estate Agents are self-employed. They do not "work for" a broker as employees. All expenses are paid by the agent, they do not have company benefits, company cars, or collect a weekly paycheck. All income is earned through commissions from the sale of real estate. If you are "just looking" and feel you are getting the brush off from an agent, that usually means that they have not taken you seriously...agents need to spend their time and money working with people that are committed so that they will be able to pay their own bills. This is why you want a full-time professional...they are serious about their work and need you as much as you need them!
