FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing system is very simple. For example, if it's a painting, drywall, or paneling job, I charge by the square foot. If it's electrical, I charge by the device or appliance and the voltage. Most clients like that I charge "By the job" and not "By the hour". That means that if there is an unforseeable delay and it takes longer than expected, they aren't paying for extra labor hours.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got started in this line of work when a friend of my mothers needed help with a two story house electrical job and I really enjoyed it and have been doing it ever since.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I don't think I really have a "common" type of job. I may be asked to do something as simple as replacing a receptacle and end up replacing the whole service panel, or maybe to do some painting and end up putting up paneling instead. One job started out as putting in a new door and ended up with being a screened in porch.
