FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Every new client must complete a health questionnaire prior to their service. Once the questionnaire is complete, the therapist will take them to the treatment room for a private conversation regarding their goals for the session. The client will be instructed as to where the restroom is located, where to place their belongings and how to prepare for the massage session. We make certain that the client is comfortable with the temperature of the room and that they undress only to their comfort.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of the therapists at Kennett Square Massage have completed the required hours of schooling no less than 600 hours of classroom instruction and 40 hours of hands on experience prior to graduation. Each year we are required to complete 12 hours of continuing education related to massage therapy and the massage therapy business.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Stacy's personal story: When my son was born he had major stomach issues. The medicines would not work and he was in so much pain. I found a book on massage therapy and it showed how to massage an infant to relieve bowel issues. I used the techniques with my son and it gave him great relief. When my second son was born he had a condition called torticollis - A rare condition in which the neck muscles contract, causing the head to twist to one side. Massage was very helpful in increasing his range of motion and allowing for full function of his neck muscles. As a cheerleading coach, I was injured and needed physical therapy. I was being treated at New Garden Medical and Wellness Center when I was offered a job in PR. Part of my job was to offer chair massage as a tool to make the public aware of muscle tightness caused by subluxations in the spinal area. I enjoyed helping clients find relief from sore muscles and I wanted to learn more. After I worked at NGMW for over 2 years I found Cortiva - PA School Of Muscle Therapy where I obtained my education in Massage Therapy. And the rest is history!
