Eliana was excellent! she had me learning my sewing machine, totally and sewing within 2hours, believe me I'm not a great learner, but her patience and commitment boost my desire. we also sewed a pillow during this class! looking forward to sewing bliss with Eliana!Sep 29, 2020Verified
Eliana was very professional, but still personable. She was generous with her tips and help and it didn’t feel like she was doing for the money. More like a passion and the pleasure of teaching something she learned the hard way. She is really interested in you being successful in your attempt at using the sewing machine.Sep 2, 2020Verified
Mrs. Eliana was thorough in teaching a beginner’s class with my daughter and I. She took the time to go over everything with us before we move into sewing. I am looking forward to booking her again here very soon and overall she is really good in sewing and teaching!!💕💕Apr 21, 2020Verified
I was in need of help and Eliana was excellent in assisting me to overcome the issue I was having. Now I have a better understanding of my machine. She was so patient and very knowledgeable. The fee I spent was very well worth it to gain the knowledge she gave me! I would definitely use her services again as needed. Thank you again Ms. AlcivarNov 23, 2020Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I charge by the hour. Please contact me for a quote! When offering in-person lessons, I can travel to your home (subject to added travel fee at my discretion).
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? We start with an initial exchange of messages via Thumbtack to identify goals. I can do a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation on request. Then, we set up a time for our initial lesson, and I provide a list of supplies for you to purchase in advance! An initial 3-hour lesson is recommended if you are an absolute beginner. This session is used to learn to thread and use your sewing machine, to learn about the essential tools of the trade, and to learn a few indispensable beginner sewing techniques. Time permitting, we can even get started on a simple sewing project to apply these skills. Additional sessions are recommended to work on simple beginner sewing projects, and ultimately, to learn to work with a sewing pattern! Additional sessions of varying lengths (depending on your goals and the project we decide to work on) can be scheduled focused on learning key skills such as: inserting a zipper; making buttonholes and placing/sewing on buttons; sewing darts; making a collared shirt or shirt dress; making a round neckline with facing; making a v-neck with facing and raising a v-neck; inserting a sleeve; sewing pleats; and making a fully lined dress bodice. I am also available generally to help coach you through just about any beginner to intermediate level sewing pattern you might be interested in making.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I am entirely self-taught. My training comes from online tutorials, browsing sewing books, and sewing my way through scores of sewing patterns in the last three years. I easily have racked up hundreds of hours of sewing experience in the last three years.
