FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Individual training sessions start at $60/hour. An individual prepaid package of 8 sessions reduces the price of each session by $5, for a total savings of $48.00. Small group sessions are $60 for the first client, and $15 for each additional client, for a maximum of 4 clients.Half hour sessions MAY be available, depending on location and time of day. The price for 1/2 hour is $35 for the first client, $10 for each additional client. Half hour sessions are not generally recommended unless these sessions supplement an existing exercise program. All prices are subject to change. All cancellations must be done within a FULL 24 hours to avoid being charged for that session.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Initially I meet with a new client for a free consultation to discuss his/her fitness needs, medical and health concerns, and overall goals. Training sessions are tailored to each individual, and may include strength training, cardiovascular training, balance and flexibility training. The combination of these will depend on each clients abilities and needs. Personal Training will begin with education on correct technique and benefits of each exercise, progressing each session as the client becomes more familiar and comfortable with exercises. The rate of exercise progression varies greatly between individuals. Clients are always encouraged to provide me with feedback regarding their training experience, and adjustments to each program are made with client input. For example, if you hate squats, I will substitute another exercise to work the same muscle groups.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As an ACE certified trainer, I am required to complete a minimum of 30 hours of professionally approved continuing education every 2 years, and maintain a current CPR certification. The monthly professional fitness magazines provided by ACE and IDEA supplement my knowledge. I am also a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, which requires an Associates degree in Applied Science and additional continuing education on a biannual basis. This education, experience and knowledge greatly enhance my understanding of the human body, muscle physiology, and injury prevention.
