Galen is an excellent drum instructor! He has a knack for teaching.. balancing the necessary exercises to improve your technique, while allowing you to be creative and find your own style. Galen is extremely talented and the best drum instructor I've ever had!

Galen is an incredible teacher! I came as a beginner to drums. He offered a great mix of technical practice alongside practice to music. Kept it challenging and fun at the same time. Galen tailored lessons to my musical interests and offered great resources for learning outside class. Also extremely personable and fun to work with.

Since I was a little girl, I always wanted to play drums. By the time I became middle-aged - I didn't think it was still possible.
I started taking lessons with Galen in 2019. His patience, enthusiasm, and creativity with his lesson plan transformed me into a drummer actually playing with a trio. Whether it's in person or online, Galen is an excellent teacher. He turned my dream into a reality.

Galen is a gem. I could not have imagined a better experience for my son. He has a great manner that makes the lessons the perfect mix of fun and serious. We took lessons with Galen for over 3 years and only stopped because we moved out of the area. He brings so much passion for music i think it’s really infectious for the kids. How did you get started doing this type of work?
I began playing drums at age ten and quickly realized it was a calling and a passion. My father was a college professor, so teaching is in my blood. About 13 years ago I started working with drum students at Piedmont High and decided to combine my love for playing drums with my natural inclination to teach!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
It’s important to find the right fit when it comes to a music teacher. Personality, musical interests and teaching style should be compatible..You may need to try a few teachers or even instruments before you find true inspiration.
