Allen was great to work with. He was responsive and explained his process thoroughly. He walked through our space, went into the attic and looked at blueprints to confirm our walls were not load bearing and could be removed. Had we needed a beam or any type of support, Allen would have been able to work up the drawings and give us professionally stamped plans. Overall, a wonderful experience working with Allen and I would recommend him to anyone.

Allen helped me design a large deck for the back of my house. I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted and he had many ideas for me and was able to draw up options, like a roof over part of the deck, that I could add later if I chose not to do it initially. He came to my house and took measurements and talked through options with me. He was professional and quick to prepare the drawings after our initial visit.
When I took the drawings to my contractor had some questions for me regarding the drawings and what I wanted for materials. I sent the questions over to Allen to help me talk through and he again was quick to respond and help me understand my options and get back to the contractor with final decisions.
I would work with him again in a heartbeat and have recommended him to many friends.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University with 13 years of engineering experience at a Nuclear Engineering Firm. I've obtained my Professional Engineering license which lead to me starting my own business. I consider myself a DIYer in the sense that I've designed my own deck, patio, firepit and sitting walls, basement, fireplace built ins, and have also built them all myself.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always had an aspiration to be a foreman for large custom built homes, but went to school for engineering instead. When I obtained my Professional Engineering license, I decided it was time to start my own company designing those types of projects.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I've dealt with a number of clients who need help navigating the public permitting agencies and require stamped drawings in order to obtain construction permits, as well as working directly with general contractors and architects to be their dedicated engineer on their job sites.
