Introduction: My company and approach are different than most Interior Designers. I design functional yet beautiful environments for my clients with the best quality items for the best possible price. I started in the commercial side of the business and because of referrals to client's homes started to do both. I really enjoy both. So my resources for my clients are endless. I worked at an architectural firm, an interior design firm and a furniture dealership so I know all sides of the business to help my clients. I find quality solutions within the clients budget. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Each project is different and depends on the clients specific needs I quote each project individually. Examples of price ranges are listed below; A consultant at your house selection paints, telling you how best to utilize your space and what things you can do to improve your home $300 (3 hours). One room layout showing existing and new options $300-$500. Custom design of several rooms $500-$1200 Complete home layout and finish selection are approximately $1.00-$1.50 per square foot. That includes floor plans, furniture layouts, kitchen and bath floor plans and elevations, entire home interior and exterior finish selections, finish specifications, progress meetings and vendor specification reviews. So a home that has 2400 square feet would cost $2,400-$3,600 to design entirely.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I like to talk to the customer on the phone to see if our personalities match and we feel comfortable with each other. We can determine exactly what is best for them and get them a proposal for that their goals. Then I can also give them options on how they can decide to best proceed. I can be hired for a project or for an hourly fee. It is what is best for my client’s situation. I give you choices and you determine what is best for your goals and your budget and your time frame. I am willing to work with what is most comfortable for my client.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
A great deal of time and research goes into keeping up with the most innovative products for their applications, industry trends, codes and regulations, and how certain companies are performing and what kind of chemicals are in products that you should stay away from. That information changes daily so I spend a great deal of my time on non-billable items too. My clients make better informed decisions because of my knowledge and experience and my commitment to making sure what they utilize is safe and the best performing materials for their situation.
