Introduction: I feel my work stands out from others because my philosophy is simple...work with integrity, listen to what your client is saying, love what you're doing and give your best! I also have the ability to come in on budget by being realistic about hours. My work also is not complete until I feel I have met approval of the homeowner. I also tell the homeowner that they are always welcome to call me with questions which I believe leaves them feeling that we are working together, which we are. I like the inspiration that comes unexpectedly and finding that what once was a cast off is now something beautiful. I have met the most wonderful people and have learned from every job and person I've worked with. I never feel it's a waste of my time to spend an extra hour with a client and not charge them. I think what I like the best is seeing that a customer is satisfied and feels like their home is the best looking one on the block. Of course seeing the beautiful end to a project makes me giddy.

Julie helped us design and pick finishes for our master bathroom renovation. It was great to have a competent professional fine tune the basic ideas we had in our head. For example, She suggested a tile that I thought would be way to dark but she had me take a sample home and I can't believe how much I loved it..still to this day! My husband and I were really pleased with her contacts, contractors, and design ideas!

FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
No I do not have a complicated pricing system. I charge a one hour consulting fee for color selections, interior decorating and staging at $100. I do not mark up product but rather go through the customer to purchase what is needed for the job. This saves the customer money on items such as furniture, flooring, drapery and accessories. I have found that this works best for both parties involved. As a designer, I pledge to you the goal of maintaining your budget and finding good, economical solutions for your home. This includes passing on possible discounts to you, which are made available to me as a designer.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First we meet at the customers home to discuss the project. By the time I leave which usually takes one hour, we have a plan in place. It is different for every person but usually we start sourcing for the room and within that hour I can give a color consultation. I have many contractors to call on for help.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes. I attend any seminar that is available. Currently I am signed up to learn more about using color with paint to set mood and touring a window treatment business to learn more about fabrics and styles.
