Hi Jonathan I wanted to explain our work process more thoroughly to you. We ask for an initial payment up front because we are delivering a form of writing as an end product in both a PDF and Word Document format. A potential customer could simply copy the text and unique writing style into their own resume format and walk away without paying us for our time and effort. Our firm experienced this type of scamming when we first started and thus adjusted our delivery method to the system we use now. The majority of our competitors also employ a similar work process and delivery method. I also want to note for any potential customers reading this review, that it in no way represents the actual work we deliver to our clients. We never did business with Jonathan and his review reflects an unfortunate misunderstanding that could have been cleared up easily with a simple conversation.
I found my experience with LifeWork to be incredibly successful and productive. After an initial consultation and 2 revisions my resume was ready to be sent to potential employers. My expectation was that it would take a week or so for employers to start to notice the new resume and began contacting, but LifeWorks format and content had recruiters contacting me within 24 hours after uploading and am now setting up interviews for the first time since beginning my job search. I can express my gratitude enough for the way in which my resume was redesigned and optimized for ATS. From start to finish Joe has been impressively responsive. He also showed a lot of patience throughout the process of working on my résumé and cover letter drafts. Some of my work experience is difficult to describe and Joe worked with me through multiple iterations until I was satisfied with both the descriptions and the writing of my résumé and cover letter. The result is a package that I'm extremely happy with and I feel properly represents me and my skill set. He also worked on my LinkedIn profile and , while I haven't yet really put my résumé and cover letter to work yet (just one or two tweaks left), I've already seen a significant increase in the number of views my profile is getting. Now just two caveats: 1) I underestimated how difficult it is to get these documents right, 2) they get busy. My advice is to communicate clearly and be as patient with LifeWork as they are with you.
