1 Year later and I feel Amber has taught me so much about the violin and music! Always positive, patient, and always kept the lessons fun. Hard to imagine a better violin teacher.

Amber is an extremely involved teacher. I find that my progress with the violin is not as fast as most other people who take up the instrument, and I am unable to hear many of the mistakes I make. Despite this, she has been very patient in helping me understand what mistakes I am making and why. In between scheduled lessons, Amber has been consistent in answering questions, and suggesting sheet music. At first I was hesitant about taking musical lessons online, but Im very happy with what I am learning.

I couldn't have asked for a better experience or a better teacher. I've recently had to stop music lessons for person reasons but, i'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Amber. She cares immensely about her students' growth and improvement and will be missed greatly!

We had a nice introduction and discussion about my problems. Then during my first lesson she gave me a clear advise and I enjoyed very much.

Amber was such an amazing teacher!! She made it fun to learn the violin and she was extremely patient with me. She is encouraging, especially when it can be really frustrating in the beginning to learn a new instrument. I highly recommend hiring her :)

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Monthly lesson payments are collected the first lesson of every month. Additional perks to lessons are Studio Circles via Zoom once a month. This is an opportunity to learn from others and share what we are learning and struggling with in lessons.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Lessons include ear training, technique building through scales, etudes and various exercises, along with repertoire. You'll learn to play by ear and read music. You'll learn music history and music theory along the way too. I'd say 90% of my students take an hour lesson.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance from the University of Arizona and a Master of Music from Temple University in Viola Performance. I have performed with The Arden Theater here in Philadelphia, and have performed solo, in a chamber setting, and orchestral settings in the finest concert halls across China, Italy, England, and the USA. I have taught 30-40 students each week at varying ages and levels since 2015 and was on the faculty of the Interharmony International Music Festival in Acqui Terme, Italy in 2018.
