Introduction: Don't be fooled by other moving companies listed on this site. Pennsylvania legally requires moving companies to have a PUC license and any moving company without this license is operating illegally and risk confiscation of their truck which could have your furniture in! Dont take the risk to try to save a few bucks. Mountain Movers LLC is a reliable, state-licensed & insured moving company based out of Reading, PA. We strive to provide customers a satisfactory moving experience. Our moving crew is friendly, up-beat, and most importantly, experts when it comes to satisfying clients' moving needs. Local Moving (under 50 miles)

I knew I wanted to use a local company and Mike and his crew did not disappoint. They were all very friendly, professional and cared about getting the job done well. They were running ahead of schedule which is great in my book and finished well under the estimated time for the move. Would absolutely use again but seriously hope we don’t ever have to move again:)

Local Moving (under 50 miles)

The crew did an excellent job of getting us out of our old home and into our new home. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a mover.

Furniture Moving and Heavy Lifting

Mike and his team were great! They wrapped everything like pros, asked questions, and were especially thorough at the start and stop of the day, which showed they wanted to make sure they did everything I needed and knew the full scope. Would definitely recommend their work.

They showed up on time, politely interacted with my mother-in-law to make her feel comfortable during the move, handled her furniture with care and helped her to decide how to arrange her rooms. They were efficient, generous with their comments and very friendly. When we move again, they will be the first moving company we contact.

Local Moving (under 50 miles)

They were good. They showed up on time, and moved the stuff. They were nice enough to take stuff out a window. There were 20% of boxes not put in the labelled rooms; the person who thought he could put together the SleepNumber bed did it wrong, but overall, they were very solid.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Local moving rates are based upon a hourly rate + transportation fee. The hourly rate is the price for a truck and guys. The transportation fee is the price for materials, fuel, distance, time. Both these rates vary depending on the size and location of the job. The best way to get an accurate quote is to inquiry about your move with a representative. After we understand the magnitude of the job, you will be able to receive a crystal clear quote. Long Distance Move (Over 50 miles) are based upon the weight / size of the job. The best way to receive an accurate quote for a long distance move, is to schedule an on-site estimate where one of our representatives comes out and does a walk through with the customer to understand the exact nature and needs of the customer.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I always start by providing the customer a quote. In order to give an accurate quote, I will ask them what type of furniture they are moving and find out if there are any out-of-the ordinary pieces that require special attention. I will try to gather as much information as possible to ensure I am properly prepared for the situation. Sometimes this will include an on site estimation of the house. After a quote is given the customer will then decide if they want to hire me or not. The last step is the easiest. You just sit back and do your best to relax and allow me to do all the hard work.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

14 years experience in the moving industry with close to 3000 moves performed. My crew members each have at least 10 years experience moving. I take pride in my crew and we work hard to ensure a safe, and comfortable moving experience.
