Bob does amazing work! I gutted my 1905 house when I bought it and he did nearly all of the work to renovate it. He comes up with creative solutions, does meticulous work to deliver high quality outcomes, works to understand my vision and when something unexpected happens, he runs suggestions or changes by me. He has done everything from bathroom and kitchen remodels to custom carpentry, mill work, hardwood and tile installation, stair re-cladding, fixtures, deck building, fencing, and door replacement. And - in my case - all within a house where you can’t count on anything being level or square. His work is excellent and he does a great job of communicating with me through every project. I’d recommend him in a heartbeat!

I am a perfectionist and many people told Bob that I was not easy to please... Bob has been working on my home and major projects for the past 18 years. Has he pleased me? That was never an issue because Bob is harder on himself than I have ever been. I have 18 years of stories I can tell and projects I can describe but words just don't explain the technical expertise that Bob brings to a job. He is a professional who takes pride in his work and will not leave something that he is not happy with. He wants his customer to be happy BUT it is Bob who must be satisfied with the work before he will move on. I hired him to complete a total restoration of our 1880 home which had been "modernized" in the 1960's with paneling, dropped ceilings and shag carpeting. Bob took the house down to its bones and brought it back with the high ceilings, hardwood flooring and massive wood trim, often having to recreate the original trims. Bob then completed a 2400 square foot addition to the house which included a first floor master suite, great room, built in bookcases, two large bathrooms with walk in showers etc. The most recent project was to turn the third floor attic into bedrooms and a bath as we are contemplating using the original 1880 section of the home as a bed and breakfast. Considering that the third floor had once been home to bats, this was quite a project. Bob took the attic down to its bones which exposed massive beams that were placed at various angles to produce the old mansard roof and of course nothing was "square" or level. The result of Bob's craftsmanship is a stunning transformation and yielded two beautiful bedrooms, closets, and a full bathroom. Bob has also rebuilt the "shanty" which is the traditional lean-to off the kitchen that most homes of that era had. Ours is now the butler's pantry and holds the kitchen appliances, pots and pans, an extra refrigerator and the shelves of canned goods and baking supplies. People who have visited our home over the past 18 years often ask to see the latest work of "Builder Bob" because they know that it will be amazing. Many of my friends, and all of my family members have relied on Bob to work on their homes. Our next project is to update the kitchen...after 18 years it is time. PHOTOS will be coming.

I provide reasonable rates and provide free quotes.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When working with a new customer I like to meet them in person to discuss the details of their project. I also ask what their expectations and time frame for the completion of the project. I will ask the customer if they have any question for me as well. I feel communication is very important to be successful.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
4 years in a trade high school and 37 years of field experience all working directly with customers both in Commercial and Residential renovations.
