I am si impressed with this company from beginning to end. Mark and Brian were awesome with the Polylevel. John Creamer and his crew were excellent. They put new french drain systems in my basement and office. Everything was explained fully, the non-stop, hardworking guys cleaned up nicely behind themselves all 3 days they were here. 5 STAR RATING!!! Thank you all!!!Update 05/29/26. Micha came to service my existing pumps. He has been here before and does an outstanding job. He's able to answer all my many questions. I have recommended this company BQ Basements/Groundworks for 5 years. This is Micha's second visit to my home. Next year for my yearly maintenance I will be asking for Micah. There are several basement waterproofing companies to chose from in my area. I chose Groundworks because of the knowledge and professionalism of Tim McGrath who provided a detailed but easy to understand estimate of the work required.The three workers (Mike was the supervisor) were easy to deal with. They moved my belongings out of the way andproceeded with demolition of the cement floor around the perimeter of the basement. This was very hard work but they made it seem easy due to proper tools and years of experience.The weather was uncooperative so they returned to next morning to finish the job.They left the basement clean and the cement work they did was perfect. A nicer more cooperative crew could not be found anywhere. Groundworks does not subcontract. This is important.I believe I made the best possible choice in selecting Groundworks. I am looking forward to enjoying my dry basement. I dont expect any issues but I am sure Tim McGrath would always be happy to help if I did.Unfortunately my enthusiasm with Groundworks was short lived. After heavy rains I still have water in my basement despite spending over $10,000. In response to my call for help Groundworks dispatched a crew to try to remediate the problem. The fix was to apply tape to an area where water over flows a plastic tarp that cover gravel near my home heating oil tanks. Initially it appeared to help. But with the advent of heavy rains my basement is once again wet in multiple locations. Mold is growing out of control and my health is compromised.I called Groundworks once again anda representative came out recently to reevaluate the problem. His solution was to have two more pumps placed under the cement floor along with additional piping. I was overjoyed that a solution was available until he informed me that the cost of the additional work would be over $12,000. That means that waterproofing my basement will cost me over $22,000. I am a senior living on a fixed income. At a time when the cost of food, home heating oil and gasoline are increasing daily, this new expense is difficult for me to deal with.I am disappointed that the warranty I thought I had was just an illusion.Consider this: since there is no warranty if I pay the additional money and the fix does not solve the problem I could be asked to finance yet another solution. There could be no end to this.I believed Groundworks would be there for me. I was wrong. To anyone considering Groundworks for remediation of a basement water issue do not expect Groundworks to stand by its work. Today I spoke to a representative of a different waterproofing company. He said his customers can rest easy because if the remediation he provides does not solve the wet basement issue additional work will be done at no additional cost.

I had an excellent experience with Groundworks, particularly with their Certified Field Specialist, James Riley.I purchased my home in 2022 and have noticed progressive cracks in the walls and bathroom that appear consistent with normal settling. During the recent cold spell, some of these cracks seemed to worsen, and although I suspected this wasnt a major foundation issue, I wanted a professional assessment to understand how concerned I should be.James came out to evaluate the house, and from the start he took my concerns seriously. I had initially worried that, without a clear foundation failure, my situation might be dismissedbut that was not the case. James spent over an hour thoroughly inspecting the home and walking me through possible causes, what signs to monitor, and practical steps I could take moving forward. His explanations were clear, honest, and never alarmist.In addition to addressing my original concerns, he also evaluated my sump pump system and identified some issues that, while likely unrelated to the cracking, could be improved with a modified setup. I appreciated his thoroughness and willingness to look at the bigger picture of the homes health.Overall, I was very satisfied with the evaluation and professionalism James provided. If I ever need foundation or waterproofing work in the future, I would not hesitate to contact Groundworks again based on this experience.
