What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I currently refresh my knowledge of CPR on my own by reviewing my manual regularly. Transportation of people from point A to point B is always in demand. The past year I have Chauffeured part-time; that is such a good fit that I monitor the industry and have plans to acquire a limousine of my own one day. I am too busy making income to return to school so I learn from my circle of friends and contacts, mainly.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
My personal recession during the 2009 Great Recession resulted in my being forced to find a new line of work. Since I had twenty-five years of experience caring for people, homemaking while returning to complete my Bachelor of Science degree with Honors from Texas Woman's University and juggling the needs of my child with developmental disabilities, I had a lot of raw material from which to draw. I love my new career because I have much more flexibility to make my life a better one, using my time much more wisely than when living as a cubicle-dweller-commuting-way-too-much!
