- How did you get started doing this type of work?
After hurting my back working in a factory I went to college, got a degree in accounting, and moved to Tampa Florida. After several years doing accounting work for different business, some with earning under 100,000.00 a year and some up to 150,000,000.00 I decided to go back to get my degree in finance so I could offer my employers more than just accounting. Then after talking to a small business owner who had just started out I realized he didnt have the benefits the larger business had such as a staff to handle is accounting and other administrative duties, so I started Garmans Accounting to fill that need.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Lesson and learn, you as the business owner has the need to know why things are getting done the way they are. Remember your accountant and tax preparer should be explaining to you the reasoning behind the decisions they are making.
