Introduction: 15yrs of SAT/ACT/SSAT/HSPT/GRE Prep and 4500+ students tutored. I am new to Thumbtack, although I have been rated Best of Bucks County, PA for 4 years straight. I teach students what they need to know to improve their SAT and ACT test scores and I have been doing this forever. I know every trick in the book and then some. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
$145 per 60 min session. All study materials included. I like to be up front about pricing.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I have a carefully refined curriculum that I have developed. If a student has any specific needs, we can adjust along the way. Imagine tutoring 4500+ people for the same few tests every single day of your life. You get a pretty good feel for what people need before you even meet them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
None! I always tell people this... I have tutored for standardized tests every single day (7 days a week) for the last 15 years. You cannot find that kind of experience anywhere. My training has basically been “on the job training”. I actually am a certified teacher in PA (or at least I was when I graduated from college 25 years ago).
