No down payment!! be leery of somebody who wants money before they start the project or load materials. Pay at end for small projects. Larger projects can pay when customer feels comfortable as progress is showing. Customer always has control. We stand by that. Customers feel safe and doesn’t have to worry about poor craftsmanship. I hired Rick to build a deck on my 100yo row home and ended up hiring him to do some finish work and install a door from my basement garage. I’d hire him again in a heartbeat.
Working with a small, skilled crew that included his talented daughter, Rick did everything I asked and always managed to surprise me with the speed and quality of the work, from a carefully engineered foundation under my deck to the trim and insulation around doors and windows. He knows what he’s doing and he and his crew take pride in their work.
I found Rick to be responsive, professional and a master builder. If you’re on the fence, don’t hesitate too long. He books up fast for a reason.

We recently hired B3 Builders to take on a significant home improvement project that included replacing and expanding our existing deck and building a beautiful three-season room. From start to finish, working with Rick was a fantastic experience.
Rick was incredibly easy to talk to—friendly, honest, and always willing to answer questions or walk us through next steps. His attention to detail really stood out. Every cut and finish was done with care, and it’s clear he takes pride in his work.
The project involved replacing old wood decking with new composite boards, installing new railings and spindles, and extending the deck with new framing and materials. On top of that, Rick built a custom three-season room that transformed our outdoor living space.
Communication was excellent throughout. Rick kept us in the loop with progress updates and was always responsive if we reached out. His pricing was fair and transparent—no surprises, just solid work and a great finished product.

I do Not know why a single one-star review exists for this company. But i’ll tell you why so many more exist for 4-5star:
We needed a small deck/two flight steps into pur yard. Rick was very responsive and understood what we were lookin for. he is actually a contractor that went to school for this type of work (civil/materials engineering) and has been in business for a long time , dedicated to projects like this (ie. Decks, porches, etc).
Let me tell you: the execution showed! His team showed up each day punctually, and they worked non-stop until the day was done. Project complete in 3 days. We couldnt be happier with the quality of the work and the price was within our budget.
As a homeowner that shops around for good pricing/scheduling- if you are up against the fence for scheduling or pricing, i would tell you Rick is worth the wait and the quote.
You wont be disappointed. I will refer/use in future!
