About
I do small carpentry and handyman jobs.
I started in the trades when I got out of the Navy in 1973 and retired from the Carpenters Union in 2011 because of a severe work shortage.
I'm qualified in both residential and commercial work, do minor plumbing and electrical work, have attended HVAC school, and have my EPA universal certification and OSHA 10 card.

Hank did a real good job and didn't quit until he felt things were perfect. The price was very reasonable for the work done.

Hank did a great job and was on time. He went the extra mile and ran to the hardware store and called Lowe's about extra parts. Thank you Hank!

He did not do the job. He refused because I had looked for other estimates. On top of it, he was VERY unprofessional and rude towards me calling me a conceited b*tch and that he doesn't give a rat's a**. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS MAN.
Hank's Affordable Carpentry's reply
I feel that everyone has a right to get as many estimates as they want. If our original e-mails from last week were able to be viewed, you would see that I was hired for the job and had stated that I would provide the fasteners needed to hang her pictures. Everything was set up to do the work on the 24th of this month. Today, I received an offer to bid on a job I thought I was hired to do and when I e-mailed her, I was told that was only to give her an estimate. I told her that was fine and wished her luck finding someone else. She has a right to get as many estimates as possible and I have a right to decide for whom I want to work My decision not to do the work for her ( after she had got higher estimates from another source) , started our conversation in which I did make those remarks. Yes, I was unprofessional. I've worked as a carpenter for over 40 years and try to give everyone a decent price for the work I do. If someone doesn't want to hire me, I have no problem with that. Just have the courage and decency to tell me that to my face and I'll say no more. The young lady is just that. A young lady who doesn't know how to deal with people. I wished her luck finding someone else and I still do.
