Introduction: Hi! My name is Tim Ward Jr. I'm a Philly-based songwriter, guitarist and singer, and I'd love to provide live music to enhance your event, whether it be a milestone birthday, a block party bash, an intimate wedding ceremony, a surprise engagement, or a cozy house concert.
I've performed music live over the past 15+ years in many different settings, and some of my favorites have been private events, where I've had the privilege of being a part of those meaningful moments in people's lives.
Depending on your budget, event type and space, I can play solo (guitar, voice, harmonica) for a singer-songwriter feel, or hire accompaniment (e.g. percussion, piano, bass, strings, additional vocals) for a fuller sound. Part of my package includes bringing my own sound setup as needed.
My repertoire accentuates rock, folk, pop, and original compositions, and I've got the versatility to learn and play a wide variety of songs. Let's talk about your event and how I can help make it an unforgettable experience!

Tim is not only an incredible guitar teacher but a great guy who really cares about the student. He has the patience of a saint - especially when I have a million questions or if I feel like I am not grasping sometime. He is always knows how to help no matter what direction I am taking to learn. Tim really takes the time to get to know and tailors his lesson to your interests and learning style. If you have extreme ADHD like I do, Tim is the guy to have! He knows how to play the guitar and has a wealth of knowledge and experience to draw from. He is a fantastic problem-solver, helping me move from feeling stuck to feeling satisfied playing a piece of music. I cannot thank Tim enough for the time and teachings he has given me.

Tim was the entertainment for our backyard wedding celebration. When I say our entertainment, I mean not only his music but he, himself. The musical ability of this young chap blew the guests away. From the wide spectrum of genres in his quiver, to the artfully curated wedding playlist, to the inviting nature he brought to our guests, Tim absolutely nailed it. You can tell he has been painstakingly perfecting his craft for some time. He has an ear for music and a true desire to share what he has learned with the world. Whether through his own music or his teachings.

I used to play in a band with Tim 10 years ago. I’ve always loved Tim’s versatility with different songs and different styles of music, his funny and easy-going personality, and his full commitment to professionalism when it came to practice and gigs. Over the past year we have reconnected for a few gigs (one being my wedding and another a large family reunion) and man it has been the best experience. Tim has the ability to entertain the crowd, keep people guessing what song he will play next, and make everyone feel part of the experience by taking requests and engaging in great back and forth banter with the crowd. I would recommend Tim for any gig because I know he will put on a great and special show, and from my own experience, Tim is one of those musicians that I feel privileged to have shared a stage with. I look forward to doing it again soon or seeing him perform on his own.
