Nico was very patient with my ability to understand directionsJul 19, 2018VerifiedPine Street Dogs's reply
Bill and Teresa: Thank you again for allowing to be part of this journey with you and Autumn. For people reading this review you should know that this female GSD was hyoer active and reactive to any dog she could see 150 feet away. After teaching basic obedience with work with her on BAT (Behavior Modification Training) and finally got her to be calm at 2 feet from my own dog Jack (who is trained to act as the trigger dog). Autumn has graduated, Congratulations to her and her handlers :-)
It was the first visit and I can’t stop taking about it. Such a great experience. Learned so much of what I was doing wrong with my Blue even thou I didn’t tell him. It was like going to a Psychic, you don’t say a thing to see if they are for real. First impression was great and I’m looking forward to my next lesson...Jun 17, 2018VerifiedPine Street Dogs's reply
Socorro: Blue and you are doing so well and you are both making so much progress, I love to see you both interacting and I use you as an inspiration to other families. Keep up the great work!
Before even meeting Nico in person I was impressed with his responsiveness and experience. We needed his help to give our dog, Joey, insulin injections with just one person and without creating a very stressful experience. My husband and I made some progress on our own with him but it was still very difficult and stressful to give the shots without two of us home. Nico came over and tweaked our routine to make it easier for just one person to give the injections. After just that visit, I have been able to give Joey his insulin with little to no trouble on my own. It relieved a lot of stress for us and for Joey!May 11, 2018VerifiedPine Street Dogs's reply
Laura and Colin: it was a pleasure meeting and being able to help you get to a better solution for Joey. Happy thoughts to you both!
Nico is absolutely incredible. My dog has come so far and truly enjoys his training. I used to pull my hair out over my dogs behavior, but since Nico came along my dog is patient, focused, and always eager to learn something new. I will definitely be continuing to advanced training with Nico.Oct 23, 2017VerifiedPine Street Dogs's reply
David, Thank you for these wonderful words of praise. Cass is a special dog and I can't wait to see him over thanksgiving.
I cannot say enough great things about Nico. He was on-time, professional, and worked beautifully with my girl Holly. I will be going back for many more training sessions as we work towards getting her trained as a Service Dog.Sep 11, 2018Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Every dog is different however as a general rule the first phone call is free, the evaluation visit is $60 to $75 for an hour visit depending on the distance. Subsequent basic training is $60 to $80 an hour depending if the training takes place in my home or in yours, the type of issue and whether it is a train and stay or a visit. For additional specialized training, public access, off leash and full service training price will vary based on the type of work needed.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?First I schedule a phone conversation to understand the background and history of the dog(s) Second I schedule a visit to the owner's home to see their dog(s) in their element and do a thorough evaluation which will be the basis for my quote. Thirdly we will start the formal training with a recap at the beginning of each session
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I started training service dogs 40 years ago and was mentored by many wonderful coaches. I earned the title of Certified Trainer from the National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors (NADOI) and I am a member of the International Association of Service Dog Partners (IAADP).
