I don't usually write online reviews but in this case I feel compelled. I got myself into debt with medical bills, moving, and job loss. My rent, bills, and interest rates were getting higher every year. So was my anxiety over my worsening financial situation. I couldn't remember the last time I paid more than the minimum on any of my four credit cards. I was only in my early 30s and I was $60,000 in debt. The business I'd been building, the hopes and dreams I had for my future, I was convinced it was all slipping away from me. My growing debt and my fear of bankruptcy was making me feel more helpless, hopeless, and depressed than I'd even been in my life. And in the moments after my free consult with Mr. Perloff, all of those feelings started to go away. From our very first meeting I began to feel as though a huge weight was being lifted from my shoulders. He explained to me why bankruptcy wasn’t such a scary thing. That you can rebuild your credit score within a few years. We talked about how it could give me a fresh start, a chance to do things the right way this time. I decided to do it and he laid out the steps of my case, what documents were needed and how to fill out information. No confusing legal jargon, either. He broke down complex legal documents for me by explaining them in ways I could understand. When I sent an email or made a call, I didn’t have to wait a week for a response. He always got back to me that day or the next. He was respectful of my time and very patient with his. The whole process was painless, fast, and affordable. And it came at a time when I needed these things the most. I absolutely recommend Mr. Perloff to anyone looking to take the leap and straighten out their finances!

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

There are different fees for different kinds of cases. For example, a personal injury case involves a contingent fee, which means we only get paid if we get you money. Other cases (e.g. bankruptcy) may be a flat fee or a retainer fee depending on the nature of the case. But we are always willing to work with our clients and make it as easy and affordable for them as possible.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Usually, it starts with a phone call. In order to get a preliminary assessment of their case, I get as much relevant information as possible. From there, we pick a date and time for a free consultation (remote or in person). I like to make the process as easy as possible, so I provide my clients with intake forms they can complete online in the comfort of their own home. I give out my email address (bperloff@perlofflaw), office line phone (2153258921) and cell (2152874231) so I am available to answer any questions that may arise. The lawyer-client relationship is based on mutual respect, understanding and trust. So I also like to get to know my clients; who they are as people, what they like to do, their work, family, background, etc. My job is satisfying because I know the people I am helping and I see the difference I can make in their lives.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have lived in Philadelphia all my life, so I know the area and its people well. I attended Penn State (main campus) and received a degree in Psychology. I then went to Widener University School of Law where I graduated cum laude in 2013. While there I was an editor of the Journal of Law, Economics and Race as well as a member of the Moot Court honor society. Since then I have been practicing law in Philadelphia and have helped over a thousand individuals and families with their legal matters.
