FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is based on type of work. Dig holes $19/hr. Finish carpentry $27/hr. I also have a 4 hour minimum on small jobs or a flat fee of between $75 and $125 based on the type of work. Distance over 5 miles add 1 hour travel each day on the job I do high quality work - so if you are looking for fast and cheap call the other guy. This is certainly reflected in my reviews,
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to visit and meet customer and they can assess me. I also can discuss specific details of the project such that an accurate written quote can be provided.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My father was a builder, carpenter and man of many hats. I remember him teaching me to stick weld when I was about 8. Before going to college where I got a degree in Chemical Engineering, I worked as a project manager for a Chicago developer doing rehab work on old properties. What I did not know usually one of my crew had some previous encounter and could help out. A lot of stuff is basic common sense if you have a mechanical knack and like to work with tools.
