Derek was extremely friendly and responsive, and he and his brother were able to come out about a week after I first contacted him to install our new dishwasher. We've loved our dishwasher, but there are some things about the installation that we don't love. Cabinets had to be removed in order to make room for the dishwasher, and the wood that remains surrounding the dishwasher is fractured in some places and not sanded down. The wood panel Derek installed over the dishwasher from some of the salvaged wood is warped. The electric box underneath our sink wasn't put back in place--something that is extremely dangerous and you would think would be quite easy to take care of at the end of the job (our plumber just said it needs to be fixed "ASAP"). We had asked Derek to see if he could fix a faucet in our garage, which he said he wasn't able to do. When we went down to the garage, we found that there was a huge puddle of water that he hadn't told us about from when he had checked the faucet, and so the things around the faucet (including something made of iron) were submerged in this water. Derek and his brother threw away the wood from the cabinets in our recycling bin, which my husband and I had to move over to our trash can after they left (the recycling bin is the standard blue, so it wasn't as if the two bins looked similar). We also asked him to reseal our sink, which we don't think he did. All of these things alone might have been fine, but all of it adds up to a somewhat careless and unpolished job.

Details: Built-in under-the-counter (traditional) • Yes, there is access to both an outlet and a drain • Yes, but I would like guidance from the professional • Home
