FAQs

I have a Bachelor of Music, magna cum laude, from Temple University, where I studied with Ron Reuben of the Philadelphia Orchestra. I have been a free lance musician and teacher in the Reading/Berks area since 1983. I am a member of the Reading Symphony Orchestra, the Reading Pops Orchestra, have experience with Allentown Symphony Orchestra; perform at Dutch Apple Dinner Theater in Lancaster, with Genesius Theater, Reading, various school productions, for several woodwind quintets, as soloist for recitals and church services. I have coached students to highest rankings in various auditions, festival bands/orchestras, solo competitions, RYSO, and scholarships.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I have been performing in the pit orchestra for the Dutch Apple Dinner Theater in Lancaster as the reed player, doubling on clarinet, flute, saxophones, piccolo for various show productions. The most fun kind of musical expression!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I advise potential students to not only learn the basics of music, but also the specifics of proper technique for the woodwind instruments, leading to an advanced level of performing, proper breathing control, and overall musicianship. I teach the 'why' and the 'how' to achieve these goals.
