Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I use science-based positive training to create a calm and balanced dog with success in all breeds and sizes, from Chihuahua to Mastiff; and all stages of life - puppy to senior; and all temperaments, from barking aggressively at the end of a leash to cowering in fear. Most behavior issues can be managed or resolved within just a few sessions with behavior modification plans that address self confidence and self control for the dog, and empowerment and joy for the family. Beyond dealing with anxiety, fear, and aggression, I also bring experience in obedience, scent detection, service tasking, rally obedience, dock diving, flyball, agility, and even teaching tricks.

My 1.5 year old Dutch Shepherd & I just finished up our training sessions. Jenine is fantastic! I’ve learned so much about how to work with my dog. Our main issue with aggression but he has improved a lot. He ignores people & dogs when we walk by. He has much better recall. He’s better at heeling. He loves the agility courses & will do anything for his ball. I’m so happy with how much he’s came along! I would definitely recommend Jenine. She even checked in on Flex throughout the week. Looking forward to doing some dock diving with her!

Details: 1 - 2 years old • Large (41 - 70 lbs) • Board and train at a facility • Aggressive behavior modification • Barking • At the pro’s location

J9&K9s really exceeded our expectations and we HIGHLY recommend them. Our pitbull mix would bark, growl and be aggressive toward cyclists, runners and other dogs. After working with Jenine she showed us how to calm our dog down and make walks and time at home more comfortable and fun. Jenine really knows what she is doing and was a wonderful pleasure to work with. She has an onsite training facility or she can come to your house. We would definitely use her again and could not be more pleased. We thought our situation was hopeless but Jenine showed us that there's always hope.

Jenine was an excellent dog trainer. She understood what our pit bull needed and how we could help her. She saw a dog with anxieties and was able to show us how to build her confidence through positive interactions. When she suggested that we take her to a confidence class, my husband and I thought she was crazy, but she knew our dog could do it. Guess what she did it and now has her novice title! We will continue to do the things that J9 & K9’s taught us. Thanks so much for helping us.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

We will work on a custom plan for your situation. Longer-term training plans are much better for the dog and will be more economical per-session.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We will meet for an initial training session. During that session our goal is to address immediate behavior concerns with safety as the #1 priority. As we identify longer-term goals we will put a plan in place. Owners should expect to do "homework" between sessions to practice and reinforce learning. Daily short training sessions are essential and often require no more than 15 minutes. For owners not able to commit to daily training, the board-and-train option might be best.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Human psychology course work, canine conditioning, PEMF therapy to treat depression and anxiety in dogs, personal experiences with obedience and dog sports training and conditioning. I was a lead volunteer for Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) for a few years, and participated in the Fairfax Pets on Wheels program. By profession I am a trained educator and coach.
