It's not complicated. It's based on the amount of work, the level of complexity of the topic, and how soon it's needed.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, I recently completed training in SEO and social media marketing. I'm in the process of becoming certified in Google Adwords.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always had a knack for writing, so I majored in journalism. After a stint working at newspapers, I realized that my true calling was writing marketing/promotional copy.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I write blog posts, plus a great deal of product copy and web content for my clients. Because I am accredited in public relations, I also write news releases.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I am a ghostwriter for various blogs, and one blog post I wrote was picked up numerous syndicated sites, including Huffington Post.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Like any relationship, when you're hiring a copywriter there must be the right chemistry between the client and writer. Look for a copywriter who's more interested in selling your products and services than hawking his/her own business.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
It's not as easy as it appears, especially when it comes to online writing. Writing for the web must be concise and to the point. This requires a great deal of editing/rewriting in order to capture the visitor's attention.
