What started as a favor for a neighbor's elderly mother turned into requests and recommendations from friends and friends of friends, and thus Do It For You Painting was born. I will only take a request if I am sure that I am able to honor it and perform the job with superior service and results. I have worked with Josh at DIFY several times and always had great experiences and been extremely happy with his work. Josh has painted our living room and dining room and our kids bedrooms and he is coming back to paint the rest of our downstairs next week. He’s also done significant work in our basement and multiple ceilings in our current home. He’s also done beautiful work for several of our neighbors as well, including my neighbors front door and shutters.
Several years ago, we were selling our home and Josh was our go to painter in getting the house ready to sell. He painted the basement floor which had been in bad shape, making it look gorgeous! He also painted the entire downstairs and did so on a tight timeline, we always credit Josh for how well our house sold.
Josh is extremely reliable, responsive and his prices are fair. He is such a nice guy who we trust in our home and his work is high quality and always comes out beautiful.
He is also incredibly talented with helping choose the right colors, listening to my vision and getting us the desired outcome. He is the best Painter we have ever used and I highly recommend Josh for all painting needs!

Mr. Davidson painted two (2) rooms for us. He was great at scheduling a time for us and was at our door. on time. He prepared the area and worked continuously. What amazed us is that you could not tell the room was done - No drips, or run overs. The cost was more than reasonable when comparing the cost to other painters. We have scheduled Mr. Davidson to do two (2) additional rooms.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I enjoy painting and I enjoy helping people. I’ve always insisted on only charging a very fair price. My average pricing for basic coverage or color change, walls, ceiling, trim, would be between $350 and $600 per room, depending on the square footage. If I am supplying paint an estimated cost, which reflects my professional discount, will be added, (based on how many cans are estimated to be needed - @ 1 gallon/ 400 sq. ft.). If the job requires more intricate patterns, designs or accent walls the pricing will change to reflect the intricacy of the design, the size of the wall and the projected amount of time needed to complete it.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
A little over 18 years ago I had a friend’s elderly parents living two doors down from me. We had developed a very friendly relationship. Sadly, the husband passed away and my friend’s mother had decided to sell the house and downsize. She was technically my first client. Being that we had a close relationship I was eager to help her and took care of any patchwork and repainting needed to get the house ready for listing. She was very appreciative and began passing my name to anyone she knew who needed some help with home projects, and thus D.I.F.Y. Painting, (Do It For You), was born.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
My most recent project is definitely one of my favorites. It’s not often I get to spread my artistic and creative wings. A clients 10 year old daughter had outgrown her playroom with its pink unicorn/ rainbow motif. She still wanted something whimsical, only a bit more grown up. We decided on pale yellow for the walls, with one wall having an impressionist sun mural, and a blue sky ceiling with fluffy clouds. In all the room took a little more than four days to complete. I am always happy and satisfied after a job well done with a pleased client. This job, however, had a little extra push of satisfaction.
