FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I reach out to the new person to have a conversation about what they are seeking. In this initial conversation, I listen to the person describe their problem that will be treated with Reiki. We talk about what Reiki could do for them, and I answer questions they have. If we are both comfortable with one another, we schedule an appointment. I do an intake through email before the session. I do all my sessions remotely, and in some cases I go into the client’s home. I encourage remote sessions, as they work just as well as being in person!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 2 Reiki lineages of Usui and Shamballa. I have earned certification in hypnosis, NLP, and mindfulness meditation. I’m a former licensed massage therapist and educator. I no longer work in these roles, but they have shaped my life and how I interact with others, so I consider them relevant.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started with my very first Reiki treatment!! After going through a really difficult time in my life where I was questioning everything and feeling lost and purposeless, I looked for spiritual guidance for help. I found someone who was a psychic reader and also a Reiki practitioner. At the time, I didn’t know anything about Reiki. She explained that it was gentle work that balances the energy centers in your body. It is not hands- on like a massage, it works on your auric field, which is just outside of your body. The work is gentle and balancing, and most of the time it’s relaxing, I was a little hesitant at first, but after some time I decided to try Reiki, and ever since, I have been hooked! This led to me learning Reiki levels 1, 2, and 3, so that I could be of service to others. Reiki works to help calm and soothe. It works in conjunction with medical treatments and other energetic modalities, to facilitate and enhance the healing process.
