Been with Steven 4 months and his enthusiasm is infectious. Is his workout program tough? You betcha, but then again personal training is about pushing your limits to achieve. He tailors his programs to your specific goals and needs. I would wholeheartedly recommend him.Apr 4, 2018VerifiedAgainst The Machine (ATM) Fitness's reply
Thanks, Scott! It’s been great working with you. I’m excited to continue watching you and helping you along this journey!
Steven has an incredible depth of knowledge about fitness and nutrition, which he uses to build truly customized plans for his clients. His positive energy is really infectious when I'm not feeling as motivated as I need to be. He knows exactly how to push my body to its breaking point--but never past it--and constantly adjusts our routines to accommodate my weaknesses and injuries. Probably the best trainer I've ever worked with.Jun 14, 2017Verified
Steven is the type of trainer that does in-home training. Tried to schedule an initial consultation. Was honest, telling him that (as this was my first time) I was screening several trainers in the area to find the best match. At the mention of this, he was no longer interested in meeting me. He arrogantly told me that this is NOT the way to find a trainer. I guess the way to find a trainer then was to blindly hire him, and him only. However, he did wish me an insincere "best of luck!' Does anyone hire anybody blindly without due diligence, research, interview, etc.? Does anyone, when it comes to their health, not seek a second, and sometimes third opinion from a potential provider? There are plenty of people who are accredited in their fields that do not meet my expectations, so I felt I had the right to a free, initial consultation. I can only assume Steven doesn't need the business...he certainly doesn't need the additional ego (which was clear in his texts and phone messages.) Perhaps this entire experience was an omen that, no matter if we had met or not, Steven was certainly NOT the one for me. I have worked in in various capacities with the public for 35 years and I can say, without a doubt, that Steven is no expert in the customer service field. Even doctors (with education and skills that far exceed Steven's) must possess "bedside manner," as clients are people first, patients second! And if I am the first client he has encountered that shops before buying, he has much to learn I certainly did not feel valued as a potential customer. Not all is lost, because I have met some great potential trainers through Thumbtack and hope to make a decision soon.Oct 3, 2019VerifiedAgainst The Machine (ATM) Fitness's reply
Hello Scott, First I would like to address the fact that translation is often lost via phone and text. You did not meet me, and the review you are giving is merely based off the fact that I was not comfortable with being one of seven trainers you were using for a free session. While I do agree that it is important to shop around, and find the person that works best for you, it is common courtesy to meet with one trainer at a time, and then make a decision. As you can see from the numerous reviews on this site, my clients recognize that I individualize their programs to meet their needs and am in fact very professional. I am sorry that you did not feel that the message I conveyed to you was what you were hoping to hear, and I hope that you find a trainer who will meet your needs. Best of luck!
Most effective training ive ever been apart of. I highly recommend ATM fitness to everyone. It will change your life!Jul 27, 2015
Steve is a great trainer :) very motivating throughout every workout and he personally made me stronger and ready to do workouts on my own. Also very knowledgeable about nutrition so he helped me figure out what I needed to add to my diet and I made so much progress with him and on my own :) I'm so grateful for the entire experience it literally changed my life!Jul 27, 2015
