Introduction: I think the thing that separates me is my unique breadth of past experiences. Because I have sung nearly every popular style available, I am able to help students meet their goals whether they want to sing powerful ballads or rock anthems, blues & jazz, or belt out their favorite metal songs. I focus on the key ingredients and techniques necessary to strengthening their voice, gaining agility and control over their breath, dynamics, tone, etc., and achieving flexibility with their instrument...and then I show them how to apply these skills to their favorite styles, such as opera, jazz, show tunes, pop, rock, rap, dance, techno, country, r&b, soul, hip-hop, oldies, standards, etc. I have been very fortunate to gain experience in all of these genres at one time or another, and I am a fan of all of them, so it makes it easy for me to relate to a student's specific goals. I love helping people discover something that has always been inside them, abilities that they may have admired and longed for, but never realized they themselves could have. Seeing someone musically awaken, and then slowly blossom--becoming increasingly more aware of their full potential over time, and then working hard to reach their dreams and goals-- is a true joy matched by few other things on Earth. I love being able to share what I know with others, so that they, too, can enjoy their voices, and use them to their full capacity throughout their lives.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My voice lessons are approximately $50 per hour plus any travel, and any acoustic or band bookings are priced according to the event date, location, number of musicians needed, and number of total hours desired, as well as the size of the venue, number of attendees, and the optimal amount of sound reinforcement required.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, and foremost, I like to learn what the client's needs and wishes are. That is paramount to everything else. From there, we can discuss whether my repertoire is a good fit for what he or she is looking to achieve, and strategize ways that I can provide the most benefit to him or her.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied with (the late) Maureen Budway (as well as Pamela Lewis and the late Sandy Staley for a time as well), at the Mary Pappert School of Music at Duquesne University, where I was a vocal performance major, double minoring in piano (with David Budway) and audio recording (with Tom Kikta & Bill Purse). In addition to this, I have performed professionally in several notable area bands, the most recognized of which being Mercedez (currently) and House of Soul, as well as Mirage (of the Mon Valley) and Highlife (of Uniontown area.) I have performed acoustic shows with Tom Lagi (3 Car Garage), and currently do so with Mark Teasdale and Tony Nahas of the Mon Valley. . I have also given countless vocal lessons and coached others throughout my career, and am always happy to help a friend or colleague discover, and then develop, their best voice for any desired repertoire.
