An experienced educator, Anna has taught privately for ten years, and currently holds a studio of over thirty students. She began her Suzuki violin studies at the age of seven, and is now herself a certified Suzuki instructor. Anna has studied Suzuki pedagogy through the fourth book with Joanne Melvin and Teri Einfeldt at the Chicago Suzuki Institute, and with Christie Felsing at the Preucil School. In 2005, she was privileged to attend a monthly seminar with renowned Suzuki pedagogue, John Kendall.
As a performer, Anna has traveled and performed in the United States, Europe, Africa and Southeast Asia. Her eclectic repertoire includes music from the American folk tradition as well as Indian, Bulgarian and Western classical music.
In the summer of 2009, she received a grant allowing her to travel, study and perform throughout Bulgaria, as a participant in the International Chamber Music Festival where she studied the performance practices of Bulgarian classical music.
She made her concerto debut in the United States performing Bulgarian composer Michail Pekov's double violin concerto. Most recently, Anna has spent her time working on pieces for violin, saxophone and occasionally piano, performing and recording works for these unusual ensembles.
Anna holds a bachelor's degree in violin performance from the University of Michigan, and is currently finishing a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Iowa where she held a three- year fellowship allowing her to perform, record and tour with the Center for New Music and Orchestra Iowa.
In recent years, she has also had the opportunity to work with prominent teachers including Paul Kantor, Donald Weilerstein, and members of the Cavani String Quartet, among others.
