Update 2/13/2017. SBPH reached out to me and refunded me completely. They were very apologetic about the mix up and assumed responsibility. Its somewhat rare to see this level of ownership from businesses these days. I am updating my review to reflect this. I'm going to hire them again in the future because they have made it clear how they feel about reputation and customer interaction.
Initial review 6/2016. 3rd party HVAC company came out for service. SBPH does not actually provide the service. I was quoted $79 for a diagnostic. After 1.5 hours, problem not solved but bad control board suspected. I was charged $150. Turns out $79 is for first 30 minutes only. I was not informed of this. I was supposed to get a call about a quote for board which never came. All in all I had to call Oliver Heating and cooling. More expensive, but upfront, and fixed problem two days later.

I had 1 company out earlier in the morning and they told me it was just how my HVAC system was built. Skeptical - I thought I would try for a second opinion. I called and I was pushed through to Josh. Josh spoke to me about the issue and then made a call to a sub-contractor who came out within 45 mins and was AMAZING! The found the issue - fixed it on the spot and was very helpful in explaining the issue. great work and would recommend them to anyone looking for HVAC help.

Thank you Brian! Hello thumbtack. Brian was in need of assistance with a home inspection and time was of the essence. Knowing that we were booked for a few days I called one of our reliable subcontractors to take a look because he had an open schedule spot 30 minutes later. We don’t use subcontractors for plumbing or mechanical work(usually carpenters, tile and electric) but Justin is the lone exception to that He diagnosed the problem and fixed it in short order. Glad to be of service.

Installing a rooftop hvac unit on a rowhouse in center city with a crane? No problem. The work was done on time, very punctual and great communication from the entire team. A massive project with need to access the house, inside and out, from early hours to possibly multiple days felt like a breeze if you let solutions-based plan this out. Team doing the install, service as well as the office were all knowledgeable and in sync. Courteous, professional and personable, great personnel, solid work and cleanup after. Great experience, repeat customer for plumbing and hvac, different teams- equal experience.

Service calls are based on a flat rate price schedule, a la carte. Any additional same-call services are performed at a reduced rate. Please call for details!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our clients have a wide variety of needs and desires. Once we determine what you may hire us for, we will help you make a decision on how you'd like to proceed with the task at hand.
For smaller service calls such as a water heater installation, we may be able to give you pricing before we come to your home.
For projects that involve planning, we will schedule to meet with you in person and discuss your goals and options. You will then recieve a proposal that details what we will do, materials to be used, placement, and more as necessary. We will coach you on what to expect before, during and after your project and maintain clear communication through the entire process.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The lead plumbers on our team have either Journeyman or Master's licenses. They have had a minimum 4 to 5 years of proper training in trade school plus years of on-the-job training and examination before aquiring their Journeyman's licenses. Another year of full-time employment under a Master Plumber and second examination is required for the Masters.
Our plumbers well exceed the above listed requirements and combined have been involved in their profession for longer than a lifetime!
