Introduction: Kempo-Jitsu is not a sport. It is a pre 1900 martial art. It is a lot like the new MMA fighting seen on pay per view except that we are careful not to injure each other. Students have to get up and go to work in the morning and so care is taken to keep injuries from happening. I don't teach competition, I teach people to have fun learning how to protect themselves. Your only competition is with yourself yesterday. Flowing from one type of fighting to another is taught. Stand up to ground, or speed striking to a throw or stand up grappling to a throw etc. Most schools teach a traditional sport (competition art). When I was younger I wondered what I would do as lifes passion. All the time i was doing it. I was working jobs for a paycheck coming home and teaching into the night. When the man I was working for told me he was going out of business I decided I would start my own. I love being my own boss as I am great to work for.
