- How did you get started doing this type of work?
So , I have been bartending most of my adult life.Most of my friends were also bartenders or wait staff.The time came when I got married and decided to have children.I had been a bar manager For many years, And was always being asked to assist on people’s private parties.So when I could no longer keep up with the late night hours as a bar manager, I came up with the concept of a private bartending service.Our whole concept for the host or hostess who is having a gathering perhaps like a graduation party. I found most people like to cook their own food or put the bar together themselves.But then they have to wait on the guest instead of enjoying themselves.So we would come in and bartend ,heat up food ,serve food ,clean up and make a big difference in the outcome of their event.The biggest compliment I would hear from my clients ,is that for the first time they get to enjoy the party because they hired us for service!
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I once was hired to work a private 40th birthday party by a clients Mother. Her emphasis was to keep things very private.She was referred to me because of my Quality of work.The details where ,that it was a party for her son and It would be about 100 guest .About 24 hours before the actual party date.,The true details came out ,That the singer Sting and his wife was his friend and was going to perform at his birthday party and there was actually going to be 500 people.I end up having half my family work for me that night and I was Sting personal bartender.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
If you are going to hire a bartender or server to come and help with your entertaining experience.My advice would be , Take time for introduction when they arrive make sure you let them know what door to come into,Make a list of Drinks or food that you would like served and in what order.Show them where the rest room is and where the trash goes.By making them knowledgeable about the area they are working in they can better serve your guest ,and not have to bother you.You might want to share with that uncle likes his scotch , so make his cocktail lite So there are no problems.Good communication will make the service an enjoyable one for host and guest.Don’t forget this is the first time they’re entering your home which is the most special place to you.
