FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For the wedding itself, I don't necessarily have a standard rate. I base my price on many factors and will send a detailed quote to the bride and groom after my first meeting with them. For any of the services I provide after the wedding, such as editing, framing, or albums, I charge $25/hour. I am well versed in photoshop so I can edit pictures as required by the bride and groom. I am able to create a wedding album for you, either in the new style of shutterfly or snapfish, or the old fashioned bound album that your parents probably have. To be honest, I love the old fashioned albums, they are a joy to create and present to the newlyweds. I have a great deal of experience creating framed pictures, both in my wedding photography and my scenic work
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When someone contacts me I like to meet with them as soon as possible, even if the event is not scheduled for a year or more, in the case of weddings. I want to establish a timeline for the day when I am being hired for any type of event, be it a wedding or any other event where a photographer is needed. I want to have all the particulars written down and committed to memory, well before the event, down to the names of everyone in the wedding party.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In large part I am self trained. I have taken courses at the Rhode Island School of Design, but in large part I rely on many years of experience just being behind the camera. I have worked at weddings and social events for ten years, and I know what is expected of me. I have spent an equal amount of time working as a scenic photographer, building a library of work which I exhibit and sell.
