Abby is amazing! I was hosting a bachelorette for my best friend in Newport, RI and really wanted a private chef to come to our AirBNB one night to cook dinner. Not being from the area, I searched here on Thumbtack hoping to find someone. Within a few hours, I already had been in communication with Abby. She is professional, easy to work with, and just a sweet person! She sent me sample menus and we were able to tweak and customize our very own. I have 2 friends with dietary restrictions (nut allergy and vegetarian) and Abby easily accommodated them both! My best friend and Bride to be who has a nut allergy, was finally able to eat dessert for once! The food was absolutely spectacular and even a couple of days later, my friends and I are all still thinking of the lemon chicken and pasta. We have done a private chef a few times on bachelorettes, but Abby has by far been our favorite one! Highly recommend!!

We recently hosted a small dinner party after our son's wedding. We wanted to have it catered so we reached out to Abby and she responded within day. We met and she presented great menu options. We had some guests with dietary restrictions and she worked with us to choose the final menu. I appreciated her knowledge and flexibility. She was organized and professional. The dinner was so delicious and exceeded all my expectations. The guests were so impressed with the food and the chef. From our first contact till the end of the evening she was great to work with, every step of the way. I highly recommend her as a private chef for your event.

Abby was amazing to work with, start to finish. She was friendly and quick to respond, tailored our family style menus to accommodate picky young children and a severe allergy, and delivered just amazing and delicious results. And we had tons of leftovers! Absolutely would hire her again.

Abby was an absolute dream to work with! We hired her for a bachelorette; not only was she was super responsive, but also very easy to work with; I literally told her we were thinking Mexican and she came up with a whole 3 course menu. She was punctual, super lovely, and so much fun! She interacted with our party, but was not at all intrusive, plus she was so thoughtful and literally made us a little menu, which was so cute! And most importantly, the food was DIVINE. Every course not only looked delicious, but WAS delicious, plus her plating was amazing AND we got leftovers. Not to mention her pricing was so reasonable, we got so much out of this experience, it was 100% worth it. You will definitely NOT regret hiring her, she's the absolute best!

I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Finishing Salt. We did the gold menu and she absolutely nailed it. The food was incredible, and I will definitely be reaching out to her again to host another dinner. I wish I got more photos of the food. The presentation was 10/10 as well.

    I have an associates degree in baking and Pastry Arts. After graduating, I’ve worked in many restaurants and hotels to learn how to cook professionally. I love both culinary and pastry!

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

    My Vegan Tasting Menu! I’ve done it 3 times for different groups with great success. It’s such a fun way to show people how to used regular ingredients and make something wild and filling.
