Josef Antinucci is a personal chef. Although I love to cook and am a good cook, I have back problems that can make it hard for me to stand for long periods of time. A personal chef seemed the answer. He does the shopping, prep and cooking and delivers finished meals once a week. His portions are quite large and two portions of three different meals carries my husband and me five or six days. Chef Joseph is really dependable. No matter what the weather conditions, he delivered, even if he had to tromp through fifteen inches of snow, which happened several times. There were a couple of days in Feb. when we didn't get mail, but we always got our dinners. We are still learning the chef's cooking style. In general my husband and I are pleased with his service, although we have learned that he tends to use sugar in his cooking. Since I am diabetic, I tend not to order dishes that seem like they will be sweet, rather than savory. There is usually enough variety that we are able to match our taste preferences quite well. Chef Josef is a very thoughtful, kind man. When a blizzard was in the offing, he offered to go out and buy batteries and anything else we might need. All in all, a great find.Mar 25, 2015Verified
We have been enjoying the personal chef services of Josef weekly for over several months now. Each week has been a great experience. We are able to enjoy dishes that are creative, delicious and generoulsy portioned. Josef's chef skills are top notch and his friendly personality togehter make a great combination. Joe was great! Initially, I had wanted to hire a private chef to cook for myself and 11 other girls while we were staying in Newport. Because of money restraints, I wasn't sure this would be feasible. Josef suggested that we use his other option, which is to have the meal prepared earlier in the day and dropped off to us. We went with this option and it was amazing! We got exactly the food we wanted (chicken francaise) and I was able to customize everything. All we had to do was heat it up! I got in touch with Chef Josef to provide some dinners for my elderly parents. My Mom has always been an excellent cook and enjoys good food. I was looking for a way to reduce my Mom's work load in the kitchen at an affordable price. I spoke with Joe about his approach to cooking and liked what he told me about his use of local and organic foods. He made a real effort to tune in on what my parents would enjoy. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I do have a standard fee based on several factors like how many people for a dinner serving? How many dinner servings per week? Am I providing a drop-off service or am I cooking in their home? This will be discussed during consultation.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?It's very simple. The client calls me to talk about their interest and learns more about the many options I provide. I will learn about their culinary tastes, if there is any type of diet restrictions such as allergies or any medical requirements. Are there any health goals that they are working on to achieve? Weight management? Diabetes management? Areas like these.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?That is a weekly activity in my business! However, I have been schooled by several famous chef's. Most recently James Peterson, the famous James Beard award recipient many times over, My certifications come from The Culinary Business Academy for Personal Chef and The Institute of Integrative Nutrition for Nutritionist.
