He contacted me and was very knowledgeable about the possible problem and so came with the necessary materials to fix it.

Jim was very responsive in communicating with me regarding a dishwasher install. He came to my home to start working on it and ran into a problem where he was unable to remove the dishwasher because of how the floor was installed by previous owners. He tried for about a half hour ans showed me why it wasnt working. I offered to pay him for his time and he refused. I will definitely contact him to finish the install once I address the flooring issue. Professional and honest!

James came from a good distance to help me with my refridgerator. He was very professional, very neat, and willing to work with my financial situation. A very nice man. I would highly recommend him to others.

Jim is friendly, professional, respectful, and knowledgeable. He was also very efficient. What was really important to me was that he was able to come the day I requested the job on Thumbtack. On a Saturday, when I was home! He was later than his estimated time due to other calls, but I was very grateful for same day service. My older refrigerator had a problem, and I had a dinner party scheduled within several days. I could not have it break down.
He had the part with him to fix it. I also asked him to look at my dishwasher. He had to order those parts because it was an old dishwasher.

Couldn't have asked for better service. Replied quickly, came out same day and fix the problem. He even gave us a discount. Was also clean & neat and answered all questions. Will definitely use his services again and recommend him highly. Thank you

FAQs
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I'll talk to the customer and ask questions and get details on the problem they are having.
I'll suggest things that they could try before I come out, if possible.
I have fixed many problems over the phone!
I can usually get an idea of what is wrong and relate that to the customer and go over pricing.
If the customer wants I'll schedule a service call.
I give a 2 hour window as to when I will show up at their house and I call when I'm on the way.
When at the house I'll diagnose the problem and relate what is wrong with the customer and what is needed for the repair.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started back in 1976. I worked part time while going to tech school. I worked in Milford CT in a small shop. We rebuilt and reconditioned appliances. We then sold and delivered them. We also did in home service. The owner of the shop took my under his wing and taught me tons of "real world" ways to repair and troubleshoot washers, dryers, ranges, dishwashers, refrigerators, etc. The kind of stuff you don't learn in school. I owe him a lot.
