When we can break past the surface and capture an image of raw emotion I wonder how I got so lucky to make a living doing such work. There is also something so special about helping someone else see their own beauty. So many people are so critical when they see themselves in a photograph and to be able to break through that wall is an utter delight.

My wife and I were fortunate enough to have Zeph of Brown Dot Photography take our engagement photographs. Zeph was polite, professional and just a joy work with. He really listened to what we wanted and made excellent suggestions on how to achieve the desired outcome. Taking portraits can be an awkward and artificial experience, but Zeph made us both feel very comfortable with the process. When everything was said and done, the photographs we received far surpassed our expectations. We cant wait for the next opportunity to work with Brown Dot Photography again!

I am so glad I got the chance to work with Zeph. He had the greatest ideas for my family photos, as well as the best location and time of day. Zeph had more patience with my family's outfit changes and temper tantrums than any other photographer I have ever worked with. How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always been a shutterbug. I remember when I was a kid sitting down with my family and digging out the old photo albums and falling into a state of bliss. There is a profound feeling you get from the nostalgia that is amazingly captured in photography. When I realized this, it made me want to be a part of this amazing medium. I've been honing my skills and artistic eye for years and I can't wait to share them with you.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Be sure that you are with a photographer that understands you and your style. For real emotion to show through in your images it helps to feel comfortable with the one who is capturing the images for you. Secondly the style of the photographer shows through in all their work whether it's in that which they capture or in the way they decide to edit the images. Their style should be one that fits you!
