Introduction: I am the Executive Chef at Sweetgrass Restaurant on Dataw Island, St Helena Island, Beaufort, SC. I have over 25 years of professional cooking experience, from schools to care facilities, from breakfast to dinner, from diner food to fine dining meals, as well as catering experience with strict attention to detail. My service stands out because I have passion for the menu planning, the cooking, and the fine tuning of the details. It shows in every step I take in preparing each event I present. We are a group of 8 sisters who were celebrating our 20th anniversary of our annual "sister trip"! Having a personal chef is something we have talked about for years. Our dear Mother is 95 and had recently fallen seriously ill. We were not even sure if we would make the trip, right up to the last minute. Renee assured me that either way, she would be right on it. Renee was so easy to work with and helped me to customize a fabulous menu! She even adjusted the time, earlier than originally planned, to accommodate us. The food was FANTASTIC, plentiful, flavorful and fresh! Her homemade peach cobbler put Paula Dean's to shame! Renee and her assistant, Matt, joined right in with us; sharing stories and enjoying the banter that only a family can understand! She and Matt were just delightful AND they cleaned the kitchen and packed up all the leftovers for us to munch on later! This was definitely a highlight of our trip and we would ALL recommend Renee to anyone looking for an affordable GREAT meal! Since returning from our trip, we have suffered the sudden loss of a dear brother-in-law and are still caring for our Mother. Renee and Matt have reached out in sympathy, caring and support! We couldn't ask for more. I will try to post a picture or two but I am not the "techy" in the family. Thanks Renee for such a wonderful meal and great memories! We had an amazing experience with Dinner2Go! We had a dinner party with 10 people. Renee was very quick to respond to any and all questions I had and helped us create a lovely meal. The food was delicious and the kitchen was spotless when she left. I highly recommend! She arrived promptly and our appetizers were served on time. The crab cake dinner was delicious!

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    Most of my pricing is based on per plate (guest count). Appetizers/Hor D'ouerves are on a tiered pricing system.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    Besides 30 years in various types of restaurants, institutions, schools and senior care facilities. I have been employeed by New England Culinary Institute (NECI), in Vermont, where I was 'taught' without being a 'student'.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

    I have been in restaurants for over 30 years. I started bussing tables for my Mom during the summers and have loved the work and seeing people smile and enjoying their meals. Was a waitress throughout high school, and was offered a chance to cook breakfast, I became hooked and making delicious foods has become a personal satisfaction for me.
